This Associate Technology Data Consultant monitors event trends and develops metrics that measure the impact of Technical Operations on the airline s network. This role partners with Teams throughout the Company to implement processes and procedures that reduce the frequency and severity of operational disruptions. The Associate Technology Data Consultant is an innovative thinker who is excited to improve reliability at Southwest Airlines.

Job Summary
This role within the Technical Operations Reliability Team will help drive a culture of safety, efficiency, and innovation by assisting in the development of opportunities and solutions to improve Southwest Airlines aircraft reliability. The Associate Technical Consultant will use data to develop, present, and make recommendations for new ideas, and projects, providing advice to individuals of the organization, and serving as a point of contact for consultation. These improvements will support company goals including maintaining low costs, modernizing the operation, and improving aircraft maintenance reliability to provide a competitive advantage for Southwest Airlines. To effectively accomplish these goals, this individual will partner with other Operational Departments throughout the company and communicate these initiatives to varying levels of audiences.
Responsibilities
Utilizes aircraft operational data to identify deficiencies and improve the ETOPS and Reliability maintenance programs
Validates and distributes Reliability reports as required by the FAA approved Reliability and ETOPS Programs
Estimates feasibility, costs, time, and resources needed to implement recommendations of limited scope for improving Tech Ops impact on Southwest Airlines operations
Streamlines processes by partnering with team members and collaborating with Customers and Leadership across Tech Ops to quickly communicate contextual problems and define, analyze, and deliver innovative solutions based on business objectives
Collaborates with Technical Data Analysts to understand and communicate results from data and analysis for both technical and non-technical customers and leaders
Monitors project risks, issues, and scope ensuring appropriate level of priority, visibility, escalation, and mitigation
Investigates ad-hoc inquiries resulting from emerging maintenance issues and provides appropriate follow-up while balancing existing project workload
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of practices associated with Six Sigma/Lean
Skilled at evaluating SWA and Industry practices and collaborating in development of potential solutions for gaps identified in standards, practices or tools
Independent thinker that has the courage to challenge the status quo, provoke thought, initiate debate, and be decisive, even in ambiguous environments
Skilled in using Microsoft Office products - Word, PowerPoint, and Excel proficiency required
Ability to participate in the development of plans and timelines for projects, identifying key stakeholders and executing projects with some assistance
Ability to visualize, articulate, and condense complex initiatives, problems, concepts, etc., into concise, easily understood updates and/or presentations
Ability to participate in Tech Ops departmental initiatives and ensure the objectives and impacts are clear
Ability to recognize and clearly define problems to systematically analyze and weigh alternatives to propose solutions
Ability to identify and apply appropriate FAA regulations including AC 120-17B Maintenance Control by Reliability Methods, AC 120-16G Air Carrier Maintenance Programs, 14 CFR 121.373 Continuing Analysis and Surveillance, 14 CFR 121.374 (h) Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program for two engine ETOPS and FAA Inspector's Handbook 8900.1
Ability to actively listen to, understand, and communicate ideas and present in writing, verbally, or presentations delivered to forums of varying audiences
Preferred knowledge of airline networks and/or management.
Preferred experience in project management or continuous improvement methods. Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in:
Utilizing data to determine root cause analysis and problem solve
Project management and/or project consulting
Engineering, Reliability and/or Aviation Technical Operations
Licensing/Certification

Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
